Two of the founding advocates for grape growing in Huron County is now seeing their own vines develop and are ready for harvesting and processing in a new facility of their own! They are reusing a gorgeous triple-braced barn (previously built by a mayor of the area) with a threshing wheel! Integrating the history and being truly “Huron county” is very important to them while still be modern and of the time. The design captures both aesthetics and you will find many resused features in the barn including old brick, reclaim steel as well as modern black steel exterior, and clean shorp birth plywood interiors! A unique glazing product (kalwall) is going to be used for the gable end wall that is translucent to allow light through but boasts an R10 in thermal performance(far exceeding R2 of most curtainwall windows systems).  The quality of light in the tasting room will be stunning and also provide panorama views out to the vineyard! Sustainability also is important to this client we are super insulating and using SIPs to also be super airtight along with solar panels and energy-efficient systems.  Construction is anticipated to start Fall 2022!
